 WORK HARD - PRAY HARD          "The best way to get what you need." It was absolutely a pleasant experience where I walked from complete uncertainty to a safe and secure state, which was never pre-planned. (Before I begin, to clarify the misunderstanding, I am not a good religious person, but I do try to keep things onboard)   I came to England at the beginning of 2020, following the usual huddles and struggles, secured a Job here under the National Health Service. Like most immigrant doctors, after working for a year in a busy hospital, I also started shifting the gear – to do higher training or specialize in a particular area of medicine. We have gates open for all the specialty training right from General practice to Radiology. Interestingly, when I dealt with some patients in accident and emergency department I started feeling a particular interest towards those who attended with mental health illness, people who presented by hearing unique voices...

  എല്ലാവരേം പോലെ തന്നെ .. കടങ്ങളില്ലാത്ത ഒരു ദിവസത്തിനായിരുന്നു എന്റെയും ഓട്ടം ... ജീവിതമെന്ന നെട്ടോട്ടം ..!! ദിവസങ്ങളോളം, അല്ല മാസങ്ങൾ , അതും അല്ല -വർഷങ്ങൾ വേണ്ടി വന്നു എന്റെ കൊച്ചു കടം വീട്ടാൻ ..!! ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ സന്തോഷവാൻ ആണ് ..ബാങ്കിൽ ഒരുപാട് balance ഉള്ളത് കൊണ്ടല്ല .. മറിച് ,സാമ്പത്തിക കടങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാതെയാണ് ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ രാത്രി കണ്ണടക്കുന്നത് ..!! ഇനി ഈ കണ്ണ് തുറന്നില്ലേലും .. സന്തോഷം .. സമാധാനം 😀 ഇനിയും കടങ്ങൾ കയറാം ... പലതും സംഭവിക്കാം , പക്ഷേ ...!ഇന്നത്തെ ഉറക്കത്തിന്റെ സുഖം , കിടക്കാൻ പോകുമ്പോഴുള്ള സമാധാനം , ഇഷാ കഴിഞ്ഞു മുകളിലേക്ക് നോക്കിയുള്ള ഒരു ദീർഘ ശ്വാസം ...!! അതെ,ഇന്ന് എന്റെ ആദ്യരാത്രിയാണ് ... ജീവിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയതിന് ശേഷം സമാധാനത്തോടെ കിടക്കാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞ ആദ്യത്തെ രാത്രി ...!! മെഡിക്കൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന് വേണ്ടി എടുത്ത വായ്പ , മറ്റുള്ളവരെ സംബന്ധിച്ചിടത്തൊളം വലിയ ഒരു amount അല്ലെങ്കിലും .. എന്നെ കൊണ്ട് താങ്ങാവുന്നതിലും അപ്പുറം ... "ആയുസ് - ആരോഗ്യം " മാത്രമായിരുന്നു ഒരേ ഒരു മുതൽക്കൂട്ട് . പഠനം കഴിഞ് , ജോലി കിട്ടിയിട്ടും , ഓടി നടന്ന് പരിശ്രമിച്ചിട്ടും , വർഷങ്ങൾ രാത്രിയും പകലും കിടന്നോ...

  പോരായ്മകളും പരാജയങ്ങളും വേദനകളും യാധനകളും മുറിവുകളും എല്ലാം ബംഗിയായി മറച്ചു പിടിച് - എല്ലാം ഒരു ചിരിയിൽ ഒതുക്കിയുള്ള ഒരു കാലം. എല്ലാ കുറവുകളും അസ്സലായി മറച്ചു വെച്ചവരെ നമ്മൾ "വിജയികൾ " എന്നും- പ്രകടമായ കുറവുകളാൽ ജീവിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവരെ നമ്മൾ "പല പേരുകളിലും "വിളിച്ചു . ജീവിതം അനീതി കാണിച്ചവരോടും ദൈവം കരുണ ചെയ്യാത്തവരോടും - ഒരല്പം വെളിച്ചമാവാൻ സാധിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ എത്ര നന്നായിരുന്നേനെ ..!!

      Years ago if you personally ask me “what was your lowest and saddest moment in life”, my reply might have been about how terrible I felt when I failed for the final year exam at meds school or About the pain and loneliness that I had when the closest one walked out of my life or about the demise of a close friend. But these days, if  you ask me the same question…!! The answer is completely different…!!    I would say - today, the Lowest point where life placed me was after an hour conversation with a beautiful LADY.     After that hour, I had to place myself for a lot of me-time, self therapeutic talks, focused conversations , music's , reading, movie time….!!!! Honestly, it took a lot for me to gradually get back the brain waves to flow as usual.                                 “An hour professional conversation with a sex- worker”     ...

  ആഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത മനുഷ്യരില്ല ഉന്നതങ്ങളെ സ്വപ്നം കാണാത്ത മനസ്സുകളില്ല ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ കിനാവുകളിൽ അലിഞ്ഞു പോവാത്ത ശരീരങ്ങളില്ല കാലം മാറും തോറും അത് മാറി മാറി വരും പ്രായം കൂടും തോറും അത് കൂടി കൂടി വരും കാടു കയറിയും മലകൾ തുരന്നും കടലും കായലും കടന്നും പലരും ഭൂഖണ്ഡങ്ങളെ കീഴടക്കി അതിൽ ചിലർ രാജാവായി പ്രഭുവായി അക്ബറായി നെപോളിയനായി പണമെറിഞ്ഞും പൊന്നെരിഞും അവർ പലതും സ്വന്തമാക്കി പാതിരായമങ്ങളെ പോലും പകൽ വെളിച്ചമാക്കി അങ്ങനെ എല്ലാം നേടിയവനൊരു തോന്നൽ - ഇനിയും ഉണ്ടാകണം ഇനിയും നേടണം പക്ഷേ ..... ഒരക്ഷരം മൊഴിയും മുന്നെ കൊണ്ടു പോയി .. കൊയ്തതും എറിഞ്ഞതും വാരിയതുമെല്ലാം ബാക്കി വച്ച് ആരോടും മിണ്ടാൻ പോലും കഴിയാതെ കൊണ്ടുപ്പോയി മരണമെന്ന പരമ സത്യത്തിനടിമയായി തിരിച്ചു ചിന്തിക്കാൻ പലപ്പോഴും നമ്മൾ മറന്നു പോവും പിടിച്ചടക്കാനുള്ള കുതിച്ചു ചാട്ടത്തിൽ ആവേശ തിരമാലകൾ ആഞ്ഞടിക്കും പക്ഷേ .... ഒറ്റ വിളിയിൽ ഒടുങ്ങും എല്ലാം അതിനുമുന്നേ നീ ... നേടണം കൊടുക്കണം കണ്ണീരൊപ്പണം അല്ലാത്തപക്ഷം .... നീയെന്ന വാക്കിന് എന്ത് അർഥം ...!!  അവധി ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ നടക്കാൻ ഇറങ്ങല് പതിവാണ്, Pymmes Park ആണ് ഇവിടത്തെ ഒരു സ്പോട്ട് പച്ചവിരിച്ച പാർക്കിൽ ഒരുപാടുണ്ട് കാണാൻ, പല ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള മരങ്ങൾ🌳🌲🌱, ചെറിയ ചെറിയ കുളങ്ങൾ⛲️, അതിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്ന തരാവുകൾ🦆, കുറുകി നടക്കുന്ന പ്രാവുകൾ, കുട്ടികൾക്കുള്ള കളിസ്ഥലം🎠🎡, ഫുട്ബാൾ⚽️ -ക്രിക്കറ്റ്‌🏏 -ബാസ്കറ്റ് 🏀കോർട്ടുകൾ... അങ്ങനെ അങ്ങനെ ഒരുപാട് സുന്ദരിയാണ് pymms. ഇവിടെ എപ്പോൾ നടക്കാൻ വന്നാലും വല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ഉന്മേഷമാണ്, ശാന്തവും സുന്ദരവുമായ ഇവിടം പലർക്കും ഇഷ്ട കേന്ദ്രം തന്നെയാണ്💟 പക്ഷെ...! എന്നെ പലപ്പോഴും അതിശയിപ്പിച്ച, ഒരുപാട് ചിന്തിപ്പിച്ച ഒരു ആൾ ഉണ്ട് ഇവിടെ. ഒരു പക്ഷേ - പലരും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതെ പോയ ഒരുപാട് കഥകൾ പറയാനുള്ള ഒരാൾ - ഒരു പടുവൃക്ഷം  ( one without any leaves or flowers but stem) ഇദ്ദേഹം വളരെ സന്തോഷവാൻ ആയിരിക്കണം, അല്ലെങ്കിൽ എങ്ങനെയാണ് ഇപ്പോഴും പിടിച്ചു നില്കാൻ പറ്റുന്നത്...!! കയ്യും കാലും ഇല്ലാതെ, തലയിൽ ഒരു ഇലപോലും ഇല്ലാതെയായിട്ടും നട്ടെല്ല് നിവർത്തി നിൽക്കണ ആ നിൽപ്പൊന്നു കാണണം... മാസല്ല.. 3 years ago on this date , I posted this picture- out of frustration and disappointment as I couldn’t pass the exam for the 2nd time which was crucial for my journey as a doctor. I had given all of my strength and efforts to that exam , studied day and night , spent those small free time between the ward rounds, tried to make time by waking up early in the morning when there was no sun out , stayed overnight when the whole world was sleeping around me, travelled kilometres to get the better knowledge and so as to improve my level of knowledge and competence , borrowed a lot of money to pay those fee- but after all... I faced failure - not the first time for the same exam..!! At that moment..!!My brain did horrible things to me - it murmured to me as this is it -time to pack up , it highlighted those 2nd person words - that told me as am not good enough, it kept telling me — THIS IS IT, Forget it , you can’t be there.   മരണം മായ്ക്കാത്ത മുറിവുകളുണ്ടോ? മരണം മായ്ക്കാത്ത ഓർമകളുണ്ടോ?.. വല്ലാത്ത ഒരു ചോദ്യം!! ഒറ്റവാക്കിൽ ഉത്തരം കാണാൻ പലർക്കും ഇന്നും പറ്റാതെ പോയ ചോദ്യം "എല്ലാം മാഞ്ഞു പോകും "എന്ന് കാലം പച്ചപോലെ പഠിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ചില ഓർമ്മകൾ മനുഷ്യൻ മറന്ന് തുടങ്ങവേ.. മനസ്സിലേക്ക് ഓടി കേറും... അതെ.... ഇർഷാദ് മരിച്ചവരെ കുറിച് കൂടുതൽ പറയരുതെന്നും, അവരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങൾ കുത്തി പോക്കരുതെന്നും എല്ലാം പലരും പറഞ്ഞു.... പക്ഷേ...! ഇന്നും ഞങ്ങളിൽ പലർക്കും അവൻ കൂടെ തന്നെ.. അത് കൊണ്ടാവാം നിന്റെ fb status "remembering" എന്നായിട്ടും ഇന്നും ഞങ്ങൾ ഓടി ഓടി നിന്റെ പ്രൊഫൈൽ സന്ദർഷകർ ആയത് പല മുഖങ്ങളും വന്നു പല മുഖങ്ങളും പോയി കാലം നീങ്ങി മാസങ്ങളും വർഷങ്ങളും കടന്നുപോയി പക്ഷേ... നിന്റെ ആ പല്ല് കാണിച്ചുള്ള ചിരി ഇന്നും ഞങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും മായാത്ത ഓർമ തന്നെ നിന്റെ മഹിമകൾ പറയേണ്ട കാര്യമില്ല കൂട്ടുകാരാ.. കാരണം, എത്ര പറഞ്ഞാലും തീരാത്ത അത്രേം വലിയവൻ എല്ലാരുടേം പ്രിയങ്കരൻ, സ്നേഹിതൻ, കൂടപ്പിറപ്പ്... അങ്ങനെ അങ്ങനെ തീരാത്ത ഒരു നിര തന്നെ... പലപ്പഴും ദൈവം അനീതി കാണിച്ചു എന്ന് തോന്നിയ നിമിഷങ്ങളിൽ.. അതിൽ ഒന...
